November 14: Nine companies from the optical industry presented themselves during the KSOP Company Contact Fair in Audimax of KIT.

September 20: KSOP presented itself at the Naturejobs Career Expo - the UK's largest career fair in London.

September 13: Students from the KSOP PhD and the MSc Program attended the Summer School "Get ahead with optics" from Sept. 2nd till Sept. 12th, 2012 in Tunisia, targeting towards female graduate students from Tunisia and Germany.

June 15: KSOP members win renowned awards: Christian Koos recieves award for junior researchers  and Olaf Dössel was announced fellow of the International Academy for Medical and Biological Engineering.

June 15: Jubiltation at the KSOP: The first graduate school of the KIT successfully defended its excellence status awarded by the DFG.
In 2006 the KIT was awarded the Excellence Status in the first round of the initiative, and the KSOP formed one of the main pillars of the proposal as the first graduate school of the KIT.
The success story of the KSOP as well as a trendsetting concept for the upcoming years with e.g. a new research area in "Solar Energy" now once again led to the successfull confirmation of the excellence status of the graduate school. Press Release KIT 

May 15: KSOP anounces the Open Day for interested students in the KSOP Master Program.
